Marble Mountain Tour (08:00am to 1.00pm)

Your driver and guide will meet you at your hotel in Hoi An at 8.00am. Start tour by driving 20km to the Marble Mountains. There are five mountain hills in close proximity to each other. The largest and most spectacular is Thuy Son (Water Mountain) which has around 15 major caves and pagodas. The other four much smaller mountains have only one pagoda or cave each.

We start at Thuy Son by climbing the stone stairway up to the white marble Buddha landing and pagoda.

From there we follow the pathways to explore all the caves and pagodas dotted all over and inside the limestone mountain.

As you go along the pathways there are spots that have lookouts where you can climb up the stairs and have a look at the beautiful views out to the beaches on the coast and also see the other mountains.

After exploring all the sights we descend back to ground level by a different stairway and here we have the opportunity to visit a separate cave system under the mountain called Am Phu Cave. Am Phu Cave is very different because it is filled with modern statues highlighted with various lighting. If you go deeper into the cave the steps lead to darker and narrower tunnels which have a weird collection of hellish type sculptures. A completely different experience to the one in the main caves above. It is almost like the caves at the top of the mountain reflect heaven and the ones under the mountain reflect hell.

Next we visit Non Nouc stone village at the base of the mountain and have a look at some of the craftsmen working there making beautiful marble figurines and statues.
